Prof. Dr. Mathilde Cordellier

I am an evolutionary biologist and obtained my PhD at Goethe University in Frankfurt, working on freshwater snails. I then switched to water fleas because of their very interesting features: reproduction through parthenogenesis, and resting eggs production.

To understand how ecology and evolution shape today’s species diversity, I study different species of Arthropods (crustaceans & spiders).

After several postdoctoral appointments at BiK-F and LMU (John Parsch Group), I was at the University of Hamburg as a Junior Professor for Population Genetics from 2014 to 2020. Following my parental leave and a stint in the biotechnology industry, I joined the University of Rostock in the Fall of 2024.

Please find my Google Scholar profile here and my ORCID ID is 0000-0001-7376-4560.
